Pricing and Which One to Buy

The 2024 Tesla Model S ranges in price from $76,630 to $91,630, depending on the trim and options. Given that the Long-Range model has an estimated range of 405 miles per charge, we would continue to use it. Although the six-figure starting price of the ultra-high-performance Plaid variant sounds alluring, we emphasize range unless you absolutely must have a car with the rapidity reminiscent of a Top Fuel dragster.

EV Motor, Power, and Performance

Regardless of your variant, the Model S provides full-time all-wheel drive. Thanks to an electric motor devoted to both the front and back axles. The two versions exhibit remarkable astounding acceleration. The basic Model S has established itself as a responsive sports sedan. Mainly due to precise steering and well-controlled body movements. Drivers may select between a hard and light steering effort with two separate levels. Although neither allows additional road sensation. However, the standard yoke-style steering wheel needs to be integrated better. It also detracts from the driving experience; a standard steering wheel may be free. It is assured and nearly silent on the highway, with excellent handling and ride comfort.

Interior, Comfort, and Cargo

Given that Model S’s starting costs are almost $80,000, it makes sense for purchasers to anticipate a certain level of luxury within the vehicle. The ambiance within the interior is pleasant but less luxurious than competitors like the Mercedes-Benz EQE and BMW i5. The steep roofline of the Model S deceivingly conceals a rear liftgate that opens to expose a massive 26-cubic-foot trunk. We could store eight carry-on-size luggage without folding down the back seats. A sizable underfloor bag in the rear storage space balances out the interior’s meager small-item cubby stowage. The interior has an enormous touchscreen screen that manages nearly every aspect of the car.

Fans of technology will be in heaven, but we’re not convinced. Some drivers may need to bend forward to access some symbols on the dashboard. The reason is the screen’s placement, especially those close to the top-right corner. In contrast to the less costly Model 3, the Model S has a tiny touchscreen in the backseat and a supplementary display for the instrument cluster.
